Ingredients

  • 13 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sour milk (DROP OF VINIGAR INTO MILK)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups peeled apples, chopped
  • 12 cup nuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. mix together shortening, 1 cup sugar, eggs, and sour milk.
  3. sift together and add baking soda, salt and flour.
  4. stir in vanilla, apples and nuts.
  5. mix and pour over top melted butter, 4TBS sugar and cinnamon.
  6. bake one hour.
