Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 slices bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Prepare fruit and sweeten to taste, then place into a casserole dish.
  2. Cut off the crust from bread slices and cut bread into four strips.
  3. Lay the bread strips over the fruit in the casserole dish.
  4. Beat together the egg, sugar, and melted butter or margarine.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and smooth over all.
  6. Bake until brown, about 25 minutes at 350°F.
