Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 3 3/4 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix and sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Beat the egg until smooth.
  3. Add sugar to the beaten egg and mix thoroughly.
  4. Alternately add milk and flour to the egg and sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts, black walnuts or pecans.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let stand for 20 minutes.
  8. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 45 minutes.
