Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 20 Ritz crackers
  • butter, softened
  • nutmeg
  • unbaked pie crust for 2 crust pie

Instructions

  1. Boil water, sugar, and cream of tartar for 5 minutes.
  2. While boiling, add one Ritz cracker at a time into the boiling mixture.
  3. Do not stir; pour the mixture into an unbaked two-crust pie shell.
  4. Sprinkle with nutmeg and dot with softened butter.
  5. Cover with the top crust and bake at 425°F for approximately 25 minutes.
