Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 sweet pepper
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup salad oil

Instructions

  1. Shred the cabbage.
  2. Add salt, salad oil, and vinegar together and bring to a boil.
  3. Layer the cabbage, onion, and sweet pepper alternately in a container.
  4. Pour sugar over the layered mixture and let it set for 30 minutes.
  5. Pour the boiling vinegar and oil mixture over the cabbage layers.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours to marinate.
