Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 large onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 10 to 12 oz. shredded cheese
  • tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F.
  2. Spread cream cheese evenly in an ungreased 10-inch casserole dish; set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, mix refried beans, minced garlic, minced onion, and salt.
  4. When mixture is hot, add 1/2 cup shredded cheese and stir until melted.
  5. Spread bean mixture over the cream cheese in the casserole dish.
  6. Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes.
  8. Then cover with foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes or until sides are bubbling.
  9. Remove from oven, take off foil, and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with tortilla chips.
