Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef stew meat
  • 5 stalks celery
  • 2 or 3 onions
  • 6 carrots
  • 3 or 4 potatoes
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1/4 Tbsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Grease an 11 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch pan lightly.
  2. Line the bottom with beef stew meat.
  3. Arrange carrots and potatoes on top of the meat.
  4. Add onions and celery over the vegetables.
  5. Combine salt, pepper, tapioca, and sugar, then sprinkle over all ingredients.
  6. Pour in the tomato sauce, adding water if needed.
  7. Cover the pan tightly with heavy foil.
  8. Bake for 4 hours at 275 degrees Fahrenheit without peeking.
