Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 2 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients by hand until moist.
  2. Beat on medium speed for 5 minutes.
  3. Scrape sides of bowl and beat 5 more minutes.
  4. Put in cold oven.
  5. Do not preheat!
  6. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
