Maple Sticky Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 c. hot potatoes (sweet)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. potato water
  • 7 c. flour (approximately)
  • butter
  • 1 1/2 c. Vermont maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts, crushed

Instructions

  1. Add sugar, salt and margarine to hot potatoes; set aside.
  2. Add yeast and eggs to make warm water.
  3. Add flour and knead.
  4. Let rise in greased bowl.
  5. Punch down; chill.
  6. Grease baking pan.
  7. Add maple syrup and nuts.
  8. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick.
  9. Brush with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  10. Roll up and cut into 1/2-inch circles.
  11. Place in pan of syrup and let rise until doubled.
  12. Bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
