Maple Syrup Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. cornmeal
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Stir together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and combine until well blended.
  4. Pour batter into a well-greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
  5. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, until firm in the center and golden on the edges.
  6. Makes 6 servings.
