A refreshing apple salad with a sweet, vanilla-flavored dressing blended with raisins and nuts, perfect for a light dessert or a fruity side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cook all ingredients except apples, nuts, and raisins over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  2. Chill the mixture overnight.
  3. Pour the chilled dressing over diced apples, raisins, and chopped nuts.
  4. Mix well to combine before serving.
