Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3.5 cups flour
  • currant jelly

Instructions

  1. Mix margarine, sugar, beaten egg yolks, and vanilla together until well combined.
  2. Stir in the flour to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls and make a well in the center of each with a thumb or clothes pin.
  4. Fill the well with currant jelly.
  5. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until done.
  6. Optionally, shake powdered sugar over the cookies after baking.
