Ingredients

  • 1 box cherry chip cake mix
  • 3 oz. package cherry jello
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup salad oil
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Combine cake mix, cherry jello, salad oil, and eggs in a large bowl.
  2. Mix by hand until well blended.
  3. Drain the crushed pineapple and save the juice.
  4. Fold the pineapple into the cake batter.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan.
  6. Bake at 275°F for 15 minutes, then increase oven temperature to 335°F and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and pour the reserved pineapple juice over the top.
  8. Chill the cake for 1 hour.
  9. Spread Cool Whip over the top and spoon cherry pie filling on top before serving.
