Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can pie cherries
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. quick tapioca
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
  • sprinkling of salt
  • 1/3 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Pour cherries into saucepan; crush.
  2. Add 3/4 cup of sugar and tapioca.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Stir constantly.
  5. Pour into 1 1/2-quart casserole.
