Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup yeast
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup lard
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 eggs
  • little salt
  • flour to stiffen

Instructions

  1. Combine mashed potatoes, yeast, sugar, lard, water, eggs, and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually add flour to stiffen the dough until it reaches a workable consistency.
  3. Let the dough rise until light and about double in size.
  4. Shape the risen dough into buns and place them into a greased pan.
  5. Let the buns rise again until light and about double in size.
  6. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
