Ingredients

  • 10 c. flour
  • 6 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 2 c. dry milk powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, and sugar, then sift three times.
  2. Cut in the vegetable shortening using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles cornmeal.
  3. Stir in the dry milk powder.
  4. Store in a covered container at room temperature.
