Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 or 5 slices bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Melt the butter in a Pyrex bowl.
  3. Add the beaten eggs, sugar, cinnamon, milk, torn bread pieces, and vanilla to the melted butter. Mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the top with additional sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Immediately reduce the oven temperature to 350°F.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes until set and golden brown.
