Ingredients

  • 6 slices sandwich bread
  • 3 to 4 McIntosh apples
  • mustard
  • 12 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices baked ham
  • mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread, then spread mustard over the mayonnaise. Top with a slice of baked ham.
  2. Core the apples without peeling them.
  3. Slice the apples crosswise into about 1/8-inch thick slices to make 18 slices.
  4. Place 3 apple slices on each piece of bread.
  5. Top each with 2 slices of Cheddar cheese.
  6. Place the prepared sandwiches on a broiler pan and broil until the cheese melts and browns slightly.
  7. Serve the sandwiches immediately.
