Ingredients

  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1 lb. ground meat (turkey or beef)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 16 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 31 oz. can pork and beans
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. molasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown bacon in a large frying pan.
  2. Remove bacon; brown ground meat and chopped onion in the same pan.
  3. In a large casserole dish, combine tomato sauce, dry mustard, brown sugar, and pork and beans.
  4. Add the cooked meat and onion mixture to the casserole dish and stir well.
  5. Add molasses if desired for a baked beans flavor.
  6. Crumble bacon on top of the mixture.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
