- Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until frothy.
- Gradually add sugar while beating, and continue until mixture is very stiff and holds shape.
- Add vanilla.
- Fold in chocolate morsels and chopped pecans.
- Drop by teaspoon onto foil-covered cookie pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- Turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside.
- Let cool in the oven for 5 hours or overnight.
