Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 oz. package chocolate morsels
  • 6 oz. chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until frothy.
  2. Gradually add sugar while beating, and continue until mixture is very stiff and holds shape.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Fold in chocolate morsels and chopped pecans.
  5. Drop by teaspoon onto foil-covered cookie pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside.
  8. Let cool in the oven for 5 hours or overnight.
