- In a two-quart saucepan, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, butter or margarine, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the pecans and continue cooking over medium heat until the candy reaches the soft ball stage or 238°F.
- Remove from heat and stir rapidly until the mixture begins to lose its gloss.
- Quickly drop spoonfuls of the candy onto waxed paper and allow to harden.
