A savory, sweet and tangy Polish sausage dish with brown sugar, chutney, and chili sauce, perfect for gatherings and hearty meals with bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb smoked Polish sausage
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bottle chili sauce (about 12 oz.)
  • 1 bottle chutney (about 7 or 8 oz.)
  • 1 cup red wine

Instructions

  1. Cut the smoked Polish sausage into 1-inch pieces.
  2. Layer the sausage and thinly sliced onion in a large ovenproof roasting pan.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the sausage and onions.
  4. Pour the chutney and chili sauce over the ingredients.
  5. Cover the pan with a lid or foil and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  6. Uncover the pan and pour the red wine over the mixture.
  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Serve the dish warm.
