- Combine 5 tablespoons of butter or margarine with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 1/4 cups of fine crumbs (vanilla wafers, graham crackers, or chocolate wafers).
- Microwave the mixture for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.
- Press the crumb mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie plate or tart pan.
- Allow to cool before filling.
