Ingredients

  • 4 qt. popped corn
  • 2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 3 c. nuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Use any nuts you wish, such as pecan or walnut halves, almonds, salted peanuts, or a nutty combination.
  2. Prepare the popped corn and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter or margarine over medium heat.
  4. Add light corn syrup, granulated sugar, and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  5. Let the syrup boil for about 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and nuts, mixing well to coat evenly.
  8. Spread the coated popcorn onto a baking sheet or let it cool before serving.
