Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 10 ounce package frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 9-inch baked pastry shell
  • whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a large glass mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Stir in the thawed frozen strawberries and their juice.
  3. Microwave on High for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir and continue cooking on High for 2 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Cool the mixture.
  6. Fold the whole strawberries into the glaze mixture.
  7. Pour the filling into the baked pastry shell.
  8. Chill the pie.
  9. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
