Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 (9 oz.) packages mincemeat (condensed)
  • 1 cup chopped pared apple
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a small skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Break the condensed mincemeat into small pieces.
  3. Mix the cooked beef, mincemeat, chopped apple, and sugar in a bowl.
  4. Add water to the mixture and heat until boiling.
  5. Boil and stir the mixture for 3 minutes.
  6. Allow the filling to cool.
  7. Prepare pie pastry and line a 9-inch pie pan.
  8. Pour the mincemeat mixture into the pastry-lined pan.
  9. Bake at 425°F until the pie is bubbly and the crust is browned, about 35 to 45 minutes.
