Spanish Beefburger

A hearty Spanish-inspired beefburger topped with cheesy stuffed tomatoes, crispy onion rings, and flavorful condiments, perfect for a satisfying family meal or casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • few drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. onion salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 6 medium size tomatoes
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 c. thinly sliced onion rings
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, Tabasco sauce, onion salt, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into one large patty.
  3. Place the patty on a broiler pan and broil 3 inches from the heat source for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Cut tomatoes in half and scoop out 1 tablespoon of pulp from each half.
  5. Mix the tomato pulp with grated Cheddar cheese and finely chopped green pepper.
  6. Sprinkle each tomato half with salt and pepper.
  7. Lightly stuff the tomato halves with the cheese mixture.
  8. Turn the beef patty and place the stuffed tomatoes on a rack over the broiler.
  9. Broil for 5 minutes to heat the tomatoes and melt the cheese.
  10. Cook sliced onion rings in melted butter or margarine until brown.
  11. Pour catsup over the cooked beef patty.
  12. Place the cooked onion rings on top of the beef.
  13. Continue broiling for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
