- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, sugar and currants. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Transfer to a floured work surface and knead until combined. Shape into 12 balls. Cut an "X" in the top of each bun. Brush tops with butter then bake for 12-15 mins, or until golden brown.
