Ingredients

  • 1 small package vanilla pudding
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 (16 oz.) can cherries with juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the vanilla pudding, sugar, salt, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan.
  2. Add the can of cherries with juice to the saucepan.
  3. Cook and stir the mixture until it reaches a full boil.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  5. Stir in the butter and add a few drops of red food coloring.
  6. Pour the filling into a baked 8-inch pie shell and chill before serving.
