Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Sift the self-rising flour and baking soda together.
  2. Add the salad oil, buttermilk, and egg to the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix just until the ingredients are moist and no lumps remain.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 10 x 10 x 2-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 450°F until the bread is golden brown.
