Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. apples
  • 1 tsp. apple spice mix
  • cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of margarine, and 1 cup of water in a baking dish.
  3. Mix together 3/4 cup sugar, sliced apples (about 3.5 to 4 cups), apple spice mix, and cinnamon or nutmeg.
  4. Roll out biscuit dough separately into individual pieces.
  5. Place a spoonful of apple mixture in the center of each biscuit.
  6. Fold and pinch the tops of the biscuits together to seal.
  7. Place the filled biscuits in the baking dish over the melted butter and sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for about 70 minutes, spooning the juice and butter from the pan over the dumplings occasionally.
  9. Use June apples or other sweet apples for best flavor.
