Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 unbeaten eggs

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Mix well with a mixer for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan or two 9-inch round pans.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  5. Check the cake after 40 minutes to prevent overbaking.
  6. Allow to cool and top with peanut butter frosting or icing.
