Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 7 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 envelopes rapid rise dry yeast

  1. Scald milk in microwave for 2 1/2 minutes.
  2. Add crisco and sugar to hot milk and stir well.
  3. Add warm water and mix thoroughly.
  4. Let the mixture cool before using.
  5. Combine with eggs, flour, salt, and yeast to make the dough.
  6. Allow the dough to rise, then shape and fill with nuts.
  7. Bake until golden brown.
