Soft, hearty wheat rolls with a touch of sweetness, perfect for breakfast or dinner. These homemade rolls are warm, fluffy, and versatile for any meal occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups white all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Put yeast into warm water and let it activate.
  2. Add sugar and melt margarine in the mixture.
  3. Combine all ingredients into a large bowl.
  4. Mix very well until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the dough into about 36 medium rolls or 2 loaves.
  7. Let the shaped dough rise again for approximately 1 hour.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
