Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely chopped cooked chicken
  • 2 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 6 sheets frozen phyllo pastry (18 x 14 inches)
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons sesame seed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine cooked chicken, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, chopped green onions, and dried parsley flakes; mix well.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted margarine or butter.
  4. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process until all sheets are layered as desired.
  5. Cut the layered phyllo into squares or rectangles.
  6. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto each piece, then fold or roll as desired to enclose the filling.
  7. Brush the tops with melted margarine or butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  8. Arrange the appetizers on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
