- Fry the diced onion in bacon grease until translucent; drain well.
- Mix the pork and beans, fried onion, cooked bacon, apple juice or whiskey, and brown sugar or molasses in a bowl.
- Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 20 to 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Serve hot or cold.
