Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs into yolks and whites.
  2. Beat the egg whites until foamy, then add the cream of tartar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar to the beaten egg whites while beating.
  4. Gently fold in the beaten egg yolks, salt, vanilla, and flour into the egg whites mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured angel food pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 45 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
