Moselle's Rolls are soft, fluffy yeast rolls with a slightly sweet flavor, perfect for breakfast or accompanying meals, suitable for family gatherings and casual occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 5 1/2 to 6 c. plain flour

Instructions

  1. Soften yeast in warm water.
  2. Scald milk and add sugar and shortening.
  3. Cool the mixture to lukewarm.
  4. Add about 2 cups of flour and beat thoroughly.
  5. Add eggs and yeast; beat thoroughly.
  6. Add the rest of the flour to make a soft dough.
  7. Knead on a floured board until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  8. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  9. Cut out desired shapes and let rise until doubled again.
  10. Bake at 425°F until browned.
