Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 heads cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 bunch celery, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring water, sugar, and vinegar to a boil and cook for 3 minutes; then set aside to cool.
  2. Toss shredded cabbage with salt and let it sit for 1 hour.
  3. Add chopped celery, green pepper, red onion, and chopped carrot to the cabbage.
  4. Once the liquid has cooled, pour it over the slaw mixture.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
