Ingredients

  • 5 cups cooking apples, sliced and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced and peeled apples into a greased dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup sugar.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  3. Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture on top of the apples without patting down.
  5. Bake at 325°F for 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
