Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • sweet milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon shortening
  • chicken, boiled and boned

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg and fill a cup with sweet milk.
  2. Roll out the dumpling dough, cut into pieces, and let stand for 1 hour.
  3. Drop the dumplings into boiling chicken broth.
  4. Cook until the dumplings are done, which is usually shortly after they are all added.
  5. Dough can be refrigerated overnight for later use.
