A hearty Swiss-inspired muesli combining oats, dried fruits, nuts, and wheat germ for a nutritious, customizable breakfast that can be served cold or warmed.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. oats
  • 1 1/2 c. skim milk
  • 1/3 to 1/2 c. raisins, chopped prunes or dates
  • 1/2 c. orange juice
  • 1/3 c. wheat germ or unprocessed bran
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  3. Mix well before serving.
  4. Serve with milk and honey, if desired.
  5. May be warmed in the microwave, if desired.
