Tips & Substitutions

For a more tender steak, marinate it in the lemon juice mixture for a few hours before cooking. You can substitute round steak with flank or sirloin if preferred. If you want extra flavor, consider adding garlic or Worcestershire sauce to the mixture. For a vegetarian option, try using portobello mushrooms instead of steak, which pairs beautifully with Vegan recipes.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the steak in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of broth or water to keep it moist, and cover to retain heat. You can also reheat in the microwave, but be careful not to overcook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of steak for this recipe?

Yes, you can substitute round steak with flank or sirloin steak. Flank steak offers a slightly different flavor and texture, while sirloin is more tender. Just adjust the cooking time as needed based on the thickness of the steak.

How do I know when the steak is done broiling?

The steak will be done when it has a nice brown crust and an internal temperature of at least 145°F for medium-rare. Using a meat thermometer can help ensure it reaches your desired doneness. Remember that it will continue to cook slightly after removing it from the oven.

What can I serve with Mushroom London Broil?

This dish pairs well with a variety of sides. Consider serving it with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad. For a refreshing drink, you might enjoy it alongside Asbury Punch, which adds a sweet and tangy contrast to the savory flavors of the steak.
