Ingredients

  • 2 uncooked deep dish pie shells
  • 6-8 green apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie season
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Mix peeled and sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, apple pie season, flour, cornstarch, and a small amount of water.
  2. Place the apple mixture into the bottom pie crust, inserting slices of butter throughout the filling.
  3. Cover with the top pie crust, cut vents to allow steam escape.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes to an hour until golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added delight.
