Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. flour
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 lb. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 1 lb. candied cherries
  • 1 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1 lb. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs into yolks and whites.
  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  3. Cream together the butter, sugar, and egg yolks.
  4. Add the beaten egg whites to the butter-sugar mixture.
  5. Add the flour and vanilla to the mixture.
  6. Lightly flour the nuts, fruit, and raisins with 1/2 to 1 cup of flour.
  7. Fold the floured fruit, nuts, and raisins into the main mixture.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased Bundt pan.
  9. Place the pan over a pan of water while baking.
  10. Cover the top with a brown paper bag.
  11. Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 4 hours.
  12. Use a tester to check if the cake is done.
