Ingredients

  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon alum
  • 1 head dill
  • 1 button garlic
  • 1 red hot pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash cucumbers and place them in jars with dill, garlic, and hot pepper.
  2. Heat vinegar, water, salt, and alum until boiling.
  3. Pour the hot liquid over the cucumbers in the jars and seal.
