Ingredients

  • powdered sugar
  • chocolate
  • cream cheese
  • milk
  • pastry sheet
  • almond extract
  • whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Thaw pastry according to package directions.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. On a floured surface, roll pastry to 15 x 12 inches; cut into thirds lengthwise.
  4. Place pastry sheets on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Prick pastry with a fork to prevent puffing.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  7. In a bowl, stir together cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and almond extract.
  8. Fold in whipped cream until smooth.
  9. Spread the cheese mixture over two pastry sheets.
  10. Stack the sheets with cheese filling, then top with the remaining pastry sheet.
  11. In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup sugar and milk until smooth.
  12. Spread the milk and sugar mixture over the top layer of pastry.
  13. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
  14. Chill before serving.
