Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 peeled apples, sliced thin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 egg
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg
  • white loaf bread slices

Instructions

  1. Place peeled, thinly sliced apples in the bottom of an 11 x 7-inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the apples.
  3. Cover the apples with slices of white loaf bread with the crust removed.
  4. Mix sugar, melted margarine, and egg together.
  5. Pour the sugar mixture over the bread slices.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until the top is browned.
