Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Heat one large can of cherries, peaches, or other preferred fruit, including juice.
  2. Melt 1 stick of butter or margarine in a 2-quart baking dish.
  3. Mix sugar, flour, baking powder, and milk to make the batter.
  4. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  5. Pour the hot fruit with juice over the batter.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
