Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 package quick acting yeast
  • 1/4 cup oil

Instructions

  1. Stir yeast, salt, and sugar into the flour.
  2. Heat milk until hot to touch.
  3. Add hot milk and oil to dry ingredients, beating until well blended, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add as much flour as needed with a spoon to form a soft dough.
  5. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  6. Place into a greased or oiled bowl and cover with a towel.
  7. Let rise until doubled in size.
  8. Punch down the dough and turn out onto a floured surface.
  9. Roll out the dough and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  10. Put the cut rolls into an oiled pan and let rise until doubled in size.
  11. Bake at 400°F until golden brown.
